Product Inspections

What types of product inspections do you offer?

🧪 First Article / Sample Qualification

We review your sample, prototype, or first article before mass production.

✅ We verify it matches your requirements and industry standards.

✅ We ensure your supplier understands expectations and can deliver accordingly.

📍 Done on-site at your supplier’s factory or at our office.

🔧 Pre-Production Qualification

We visit your supplier’s factory before production starts to:

✔️ Check raw materials and components

✔️ Confirm your best practices are being followed

✔️ Identify risks and avoid delays

📍 Done on-site at your supplier’s factory.

🏭 During Production Inspection (DPI)

We inspect your goods during production and before final packing.

🛠️ This helps detect issues early and apply corrective actions if needed.

📍 Done on-site at your supplier’s factory.

📦 Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

We inspect your order when it’s at least 80% finished and packed.

🚫 This reduces the risk of defects or non-compliant shipments.

📍 Done at the factory before goods leave.

🚚 Container Loading Inspection (CLI)

We ensure the correct quantity and products are properly loaded into the container.

🔒 We also check the container’s condition and how the goods are stacked to avoid damage in transit.

📍 Done at your supplier’s factory.

What is a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), and when should I request it?

A Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) is done when your goods are at least 80% finished and packed, right before they leave the factory.

✅ It helps you verify product quality, quantity, packaging, labeling, and compliance with your specifications.

📅 You should request it a few days before the scheduled shipment date to allow time for inspection and corrective actions if needed.

What is a During Production Inspection (DPI), and how does it help?

A During Production Inspection (DPI) is performed when 20–50% of your order has been produced.

🔍 It allows you to:

  • Spot quality issues early

  • Ensure the production process follows your requirements

  • Apply corrective actions before it’s too late

✅ This helps prevent large-scale defects and delays.

What is a Container Loading Inspection (CLI), and why is it important?

A Container Loading Inspection (CLI) is done at the factory during the loading of your goods into the shipping container.

🚚 It ensures:

  • The correct products and quantities are loaded

  • Items are properly stacked and protected

  • The container is clean, dry, and secure

✅ It gives you peace of mind that your shipment won’t be damaged or short on arrival.

Can you inspect products at any stage of production?

Yes, we can! 🙌

We offer inspections at every key stage of production, depending on your needs:

  • First Article Inspection – before mass production starts, to validate samples
  • 🔧 Pre-Production Inspection – before manufacturing begins, to check materials and setup
  • 🏭 During Production Inspection – while goods are being made, to catch issues early
  • 📦 Pre-Shipment Inspection – when at least 80% of the order is finished and packed
  • 🚚 Container Loading Inspection – during loading, to ensure the right goods are shipped safely

How do you determine the sample size for inspections?

We mostly use the AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) method — the international standard for product inspection.

📋 We follow the ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 (ISO 2859-1) sampling procedure, which defines:

  • The sample size (how many units to inspect)
  • The acceptance criteria (how many defects are allowed)

Here’s how it works:

🔍 Step 1: Determine your total order quantity

This is the total number of units in your batch or shipment.

🔍 Step 2: Choose the inspection level

By default, we use General Inspection Level II, which offers a balance between time and accuracy.

  • Level I: Smaller sample (less time, less detail)
  • Level II: Standard/default (commonly used)
  • Level III: Larger sample (more detailed check)

🔍 Step 3: Apply the AQL level

You choose an AQL level depending on how strict you want the inspection to be.

Typical levels:

  • AQL 2.5 for major defects
  • AQL 4.0 for minor defects
  • AQL 1.0 or lower for critical items or strict quality control

We then refer to the AQL sampling chart to calculate the exact number of units to inspect and how many defective units are acceptable.

💬 Examples:

  • If you have 1,200 units and choose Level II with AQL 2.5, we’ll inspect 80 units.
  • If we find more than 5 major defects in those 80 units, the batch fails the inspection.

Need a tighter inspection?

We can also apply 100% inspections, or tailor the sampling plan based on your product type, risk level, or brand standards.

Let us know your expectations, and we’ll help define the best sampling plan for your case.

What standards or guidelines do you follow during inspections?

Great question! ✅

We follow a combination of industry standards and our own internal inspection checklists that are very thorough and tailored to each product type.

📝 Here’s what we include:

  • 📦 Packing & Packaging checks – including labeling, barcodes, carton condition, and packaging method
  • 📐 Product specifications – such as dimensions, weight, colors, materials, and logos
  • 🔍 Workmanship & Cosmetic quality – looking for visual defects, scratches, dirt, loose threads, etc.
  • ⚙️ Performance & Function Tests – basic functionality and safety checks to make sure the product works as expected
  • 🔧 Special tests – depending on your product category (e.g. pull tests, fitting, on/off cycles, etc.)

📌 We also include your specific requirements and points of attention in every inspection. You can share any checklist, spec sheet, or quality manual you have — we’ll integrate it into the inspection process.

🔍 On top of that, we use the AQL standard (ISO 2859-1) for sampling and defect classification (Critical, Major, Minor).

Let us know your product type or quality concerns, and we’ll customize the checklist for you!

Can you customize inspection checklists based on our requirements?

Yes, absolutely! 🙌

We customize every inspection checklist to match your exact requirements.

You can share:

  • 📄 Product specifications or drawings
  • 📦 Packaging or labeling guidelines
  • 🔍 Key points of attention or past quality issues
  • 🛠️ Any brand or retailer standards you follow

We’ll integrate them into our internal checklist, which already includes extensive checkpoints like packing, barcodes, dimensions, workmanship, cosmetic defects, and performance/safety tests.

Our goal is to make sure we inspect your products just the way you want. 💯

Let us know what’s important to you — and we’ll take care of the rest!

How do you handle defective products found during inspections?

When we find defects during an inspection, we follow a clear and structured process:

🔍 1. Identify and Sort Defects

We carefully sort out all defective units on-site and categorize them based on defect type:

  • Critical, Major, or Minor – using the AQL standard

📝 2. Report Everything Clearly

All defects are documented in the inspection report with:

  • 🔖 Detailed descriptions
  • 📸 Clear photos
  • 🎥 Videos when needed (especially for functional issues, unusual sounds, etc.)

3. Factory Acknowledgment

We ensure the factory acknowledges the defects and understands what went wrong.

🔧 4. Discuss Corrective Actions

We then coordinate with you and the supplier to decide on next steps — whether it’s rework, replacement, or special approval.

Our goal is to help you avoid surprises and ensure that only acceptable products are shipped.

What happens if the inspection fails? Can you help us resolve issues?

Yes, we’re here to help! 💪

If an inspection fails — meaning the number or severity of defects exceeds the allowed limits — here’s what we do:

🔍 1. Clear Reporting

You’ll receive a detailed inspection report showing:

  • 📸 Photos and 🎥 videos of defects
  • 🛠️ Root causes when possible
  • ✅ AQL classification (Critical, Major, Minor)
  • 📦 Any non-conformities in packing, labeling, or safety

📞 2. Immediate Follow-up

We contact both you and the supplier to review the findings.

We ensure the supplier acknowledges the issues and understands what needs to be fixed.

🔧 3. Support with Corrective Actions

We help you and the factory define next steps:

  • Rework or repair
  • Replacement of defective goods
  • Sorting or re-inspection (if needed)

We can even arrange a follow-up inspection to recheck the goods after corrections are made.

Our job doesn’t stop at reporting problems — we’re here to solve them with you. 👌

Do you provide inspection reports with photos and details?

Yes, we do! 📄📸🎥

Every inspection includes a comprehensive report with:

  • ✅ Overall result (Pass/Fail) and summary of findings
  • 🏷️ AQL defect classification: Critical, Major, Minor
  • 📦 Checks on packaging, labeling, barcodes, and shipping marks
  • 📐 Measurements, specs, and visual appearance
  • 📸 High-quality photos of products, defects, packaging, and testing procedures
  • 🎥 Videos when needed — especially for:
    • Factory production environment
    • Functionality tests
    • Noise or sound issues
    • Moving parts or performance-related problems

Our reports are designed to help you make quick, informed decisions — even if you’re far from the factory.

Let us know if you’d like to receive a sample report!

How quickly can you conduct an inspection after we request it?

We can usually arrange an inspection within 2 days in most areas of China. 🕒

That said, we strongly recommend booking the inspection as soon as your order is confirmed with your supplier. This helps us:

  • ✅ Lock in the ideal inspection date
  • 📍 Coordinate directly with the supplier to confirm factory address and availability
  • 📦 Ensure the goods will be ready on time for inspection

We’ll handle the scheduling and communication with the supplier on your behalf to make the process smooth and efficient.

Let us know your production timeline — we’re here to help!

Can you inspect products in multiple factories or locations?

Yes, we can! 🏭🏭✅

We’re able to inspect products across multiple factories or locations — even on the same day, if the scope allows it.

Here’s how it works:

  • 🚗 If the factories are close to each other (e.g. within 30 minutes by car) and the inspection scope is manageable, we can often cover them in a single day.
  • 📆 If the locations are far apart or the workload is large, we’ll need to split it across multiple days or assign additional inspectors.
  • 💰 The quotation will reflect the total workload and travel time involved.

We’ll coordinate everything with the suppliers and make sure the plan fits your timeline and budget.

Let us know the factory details, and we’ll recommend the best solution!

Do you inspect products for compliance with international standards (e.g., CE, FCC)?

We don’t perform formal compliance testing for standards like CE, FCC, or others — this must be done by certified labs or specialized certification bodies. 🧪📋

However, we can still support you by:

  • 📄 Checking if your supplier holds the required certificates
  • 🧭 Helping you identify which certifications your product may need, based on the destination market and product type
  • 📸 Verifying if the correct markings and documentation (e.g., CE label, user manual) are present during inspection

If you need full lab testing or certification, we’re happy to guide you or connect you with trusted partners.

Can you inspect products for specific retailers (e.g., Walmart, Target)?

Yes, absolutely! 🛒✅

We regularly inspect products that are destined for major retailers like Walmart, Target, and others. In most cases, we work directly with their approved suppliers or trading companies who purchase goods from factories in China and across Asia.

Our inspections can be tailored to follow:

  • 📋 The retailer’s specific quality standards and compliance requirements
  • 🧾 Labeling, packaging, and documentation guidelines
  • 🔍 Your own additional points of attention

If you’re supplying to a specific retailer, just let us know their requirements — we’ll make sure everything is covered in the inspection.
